Do you accept insurance?

No, this is a self-pay practice at this time. I do not participate with Medicare or Medicaid, nor do I bill Medicare or Medicaid for any services rendered. A patient can not submit superbills to Medicare or Medicaid for possible reimbursement. If you have the opportunity to put money into a FSA or HSA card, please do. You can use that for your payment. You will receive a receipt upon request. Please keep this for your records should your FSA or HSA require this. â€‹

Do you offer payment plans?

A monthly payment plan is offered for the Path to Wellness membership.

Who is a typical functional medicine patient?

Anyone who has ever struggled with their health. Anyone who is searching for answers to their problems. Anyone who is tired of being told "everything is normal" but they don't feel "normal." Patients vary in complexity and health goals. I help people with complex chronic disease such as autoimmune disease, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, heart disease, arthritis, ulcerative colitis, thyroid disease, depression and anxiety (to name a few) to approach their disease with the goal of healing from the inside out. Many patients are able to taper down/off of their medications. I may consult/collaborate with the patient’s primary care physician and specialists before discontinuing medications.

What do treatments entail?

My treatment focuses on lifestyle intervention, focusing on nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress reduction and optimization of relationships.  Herbals and nutraceuticals/supplements may be prescribed to help support your body, based on personalized needs. Prescription medication may be prescribed as well, depending on disease and symptom severity. This approach incorporates both functional and conventional options. It is overall directed by the patient’s goals and preferences; within context of safety and efficacy for the health concerns being addressed. A trusting relationship between patient and practitioner is paramount and an extremely valuable tool available to promote health and healing. Time is spent cultivating this relationship to build mutual trust and respect.

In between your visits, Jennifer spends a significant amount of time reviewing your results, researching your unique case and developing your wellness plan.

What types of conditions can functional medicine help?

Because functional medicine gets to the root cause and "upstream" issues, it is useful for most chronic conditions. Some examples are autoimmune disorders, fatigue, IBS, hormone dysfunction, metabolic dysfunction, diabetes, high blood pressure, depression, anxiety, unexplained skin conditions, etc. The ultimate goal is to visit with Jennifer once or twice a year for preventative care.

Are you my primary care provider?

For functional medicine consulting and acute care visits, you are required to have your own primary care provider (PCP.) Jennifer will not be acting as your PCP. The Primary Care Membership is exclusively for Jennifer's current primary care patients.

Is there a cancelation or no-show policy?

Yes. For cancelations less than 24 hours in advance, or appointments no-showed there will be a $100 charge.

What services do you offer?

We offer both conventional & functional medicine services. (See SERVICES on the menu bar.)
